Brazil, Bolivia, United States of America, Australia, Spain, France, Romania, Moldova are just a few of the production countries of the 19 feature-length documentary films appreciated worldwide which will run on the big screen at MOLDOX 2018. In parallel with the documentary screenings, the MOLDOX LAB workshops will bring to Cahul international renown tutors with Oscar nominated and Emmy winning films, various international film festival awards under their belt and incredible careers in the field of documentary filmmaking.

The third edition of MOLDOX festival will take place in Cahul  between 1-5 of September 2018 and will bring national and Eastern European premieres. This year’s program includes documentary films awarded at different film festivals around the world, including the winner of the 2018 Sundance Special Jury Award and a 2018 Oscar nominated documentary. Many of the selected titles address a worldwide current issue – CORRUPTION, a modern disease that takes many forms and plagues many societies and countries around the globe. Alongside this year’s main theme, our program will also explore the BODY – in the whole meaning of the word: human, legislative, celestial, the BODY as a central element in various life situations. Additionally, the public will have the chance to watch a special selection of local documentaries – Our Dox  and a separate category called Youth Dox will be dedicated to youth oriented documentaries. The festival program will not be limited to documentary screenings only.

“We see the festival as a complex event where we bring together different segments of artistic expression, a cultural space where we expose cultural products with social relevance and video installations, documentary photo exhibition, social theatre, book launch, discussion panels and activities which involve the guests of the festival, the local and national civil society. The learning process is very deep and complex, and brings together local and international ideas about social change and European integration” mentions Maxim Carlan, the director of the Festival.

MOLDOX LAB will take place between 31st of August and 5th of September. The LAB will contain 3 intensive workshops dedicated to young people from Cahul, NGO’s representatives and experienced documentary filmmakers under the guidance of international tutors. Applications for MOLDOX LAB are open until 25th of July.
