Over the past eight years, MOLDOX has sparked social change in Cahul. In its ninth edition, the festival moves to Chisinau to foster even greater connections between artists, journalists, active youth, and civil society. This year, MOLDOX aims to highlight the world’s pressing political, social, and environmental issues. From November 27 to December 1, 2024, film industry representatives, art and film enthusiasts, human rights defenders, opinion leaders, civic activists, and all supporters of social change are invited to the MOLDOX Film Festival in Chisinau.
For one week, the public will have the opportunity to watch 25 acclaimed documentaries that have made their mark at international festivals, including films produced in Moldova. Q&A sessions with filmmakers from both Moldova and abroad will follow screenings. Alongside the film screenings, the festival will feature MOLDOX Lab workshops (November 25 – December 1), discussion panels, round tables, and masterclasses with international directors, providing a rich platform for experience exchange and skill-building in filmmaking. Additionally, the festival agenda will include concerts, networking sessions, and parties.
Since its inception in 2016, MOLDOX has evolved into not only a premier documentary film festival but also a vital discussion platform addressing critical social issues such as freedom of expression, human rights, the lives of vulnerable groups, climate change, armed conflict, and other global political and social challenges. This year’s festival topic is Democracy.
