The Moldox International Documentary Film Festival opens its 10th edition with an anniversary ceremony celebrating a decade of documentary film, dialogue, and civic courage.

The evening will begin with speeches from the festival director and key institutional and international partners, marking the continuous support that has made Moldox’s journey possible over the past decade.

The ceremony will continue with the screening of the opening film Landing, directed by Ksenia Ciuvasheva — a co-production between MOLDOX, Parabellum Film (Berlin), and Film the World (Belgrade), co-financed by the National Center of Cinematography (CNC).

Landing

Haunted by the broken family relations and the ghost of an unfinished family house in Moldova, Ksenia—a young woman film director studying abroad— embarks on a deeply personal journey. She sets out to make a documentary about her absent father, a cargo pilot flying missions across Eastern Africa. Hoping to bridge the emotional distance between them, she hands him a camera, inviting him to share his world through his own lens.

When they both return to Moldova, the stage is set for reconciliation. But what begins as a hopeful conversation, turns into a bold fight, exposing a transgenerational trauma that will take years to heal.

*The screening will be accompanied by an artistic performance.

“I ALMOST DIED MAKING MY OWN DOCUMENTARY”
A performance about trauma, the cost of documentary filmmaking, and the power of healing through dance and sisterhood.

The performance blends public speech, dance, and live cello to tell the true story of a young director whose body gave out while making her first documentary.

What began as a personal story on film became a three-year journey through psychosomatic illness, transgenerational trauma, and radical healing.
