Now imagine tracing the path of these tomatoes—from the ultra-modern greenhouses of the Netherlands all the way to Moldova, the director’s homeland and the place where many greenhouse workers come from. They leave behind their own gardens full of tomatoes to work behind glass walls. Picture a travel guide that could take the form of a notebook filled with recipes and different ways to pickle tomatoes with salt.
