InterAction Workshop 2019

InterAction Workshop: intensive documentary filmmaking training for Civil Society Organization members

If you are a social activist or work in the non-governmental sector,  you might, sooner or later, think about film as a means of expression. It’s a powerful tool to raise awareness for your cause and to bring some justice by giving a voice to people who need it most. In your professional life, you hear incredible stories and you see things that need to be changed and  film is a very powerful way to do it. This workshop will give you the tools and contacts to plan, shoot and finalize a film. At the workshop, emphasis will also be put on short formats and online distribution. Nevertheless, we will also look at the basic principles of emotional and evocative storytelling. After participating in the InterAction workshop, you will be ready to use film as a great outlet not only for your marketing or for the cause you are fighting for but also to talk about your experience.

If you are a filmmaker and you see film as a tool to influence the world around you, you are invited to apply to the workshop, where you will have the chance to communicate and collaborate with people working in NGOs. By participating in the InterAction Workshop, you will have the opportunity to listen to their needs, stories and problems, and share with them the creative power of a documentary film.

The main objective of this workshop is to create a network and encourage you to use film as your medium of expression and work. In addition, we will connect you with international film industry experts and facilitate the communication between you and film professionals present at the festival, who could become potential partners for your projects.

To be selected for the workshop, we invite you to send us your film idea. If it’s convincing and can be done during the workshop, we will proceed together to plan, shoot, edit the film and present it at the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the International Documentary Film Festival for Social Change MOLDOX!

Denis Pavlovic, German filmmaker,  will be your tutor this year in exploring the documentary film as a work and change tool.
