What does democracy mean? What is the cost of achieving and sustaining it? These questions lie at the heart of the Moldox Festival, which brings together 27 documentaries from around the globe, including Moldova, for its 9th edition. The festival kicks off at the end of November in Chişinău.
With stories from the Philippines, the USA, Austria, Romania, and even Bhutan, the festival programme features deeply moving, emotional, and authentic accounts of individuals striving for justice, freedom, and the right to happiness in their homelands. This year’s focus is on three vital themes: gender identity, freedom of expression, and the lives of vulnerable people.
The full programme, released just days ago, includes over 20 film premieres, offering audiences in Chişinău the unique opportunity to be the first to experience them. You can explore the schedule here: Moldox Festival Programme. Tickets will be available from 22 November on cineplex.md or directly at the cinema.
The festival runs from 27 November to 1 December 2024 at Cineplex Loteanu and is tailored to opinion leaders, journalists, civic activists, and all citizens passionate about the future of democracy. This year’s edition is particularly notable, as it will bring together film professionals from across the globe, further establishing Chişinău as a key regional hub for the film industry.
